Unglazed porcelain jewelry with Luca Tripaldi – 10,11 en 12 April ’25

Porcelain is the most suitable clay for making ceramic jewellery. Fired to high temperature it reaches complete vitrification. Of a pure and peculiar white, it feels pleasant on the skin even unglazed.
In this course we will create diverse types of necklaces, rings and earrings, using a variety of making and surface techniques for the single elements.

Masterclass given by the talented famous artist  Luca Tripaldi.

This workshop is scheduled on the 10-11-12th of April, from 9:30 am to 17 pm. This workshop is given in English.

In this course we will create diverse types of necklaces, rings and earrings, using a variety of making and surface techniques for the single elements. You will assemble your porcelain elements into unique necklaces; reaching unexpected results as the instructor will show unusual methods of assembly that do not need the use of any ready-made parts.

DAY 1:

• Making of porcelain elements in order to make necklaces with two different making techniques.
• Bisque firing of pieces during the evening.

DAY 2:

• Sanding of the bisque pieces.
• Making of rings and earrings in porcelain with different making techniques.
• Firing at high temperature of all the pieces made (bisque and still green) during the evening.

DAY 3:

• Assembling of two necklaces and making of the metal part of the earrings using brass.
• Workshop ends at 16 pm

About the teacher:

Luca Tripaldi was born in Turin, Italy. Currently he lives in Florence where he has his studio. After training in
graphic design, he worked for ten years in many opera houses as a sculptor, making masks and special
effects. In 1998 he opened his first own ceramics studio. He uses porcelain, preferring unglazed surfaces.
The most part of his jewels are in black or white porcelain, decorated with ceramic transfers or silver. He
conducts an intensive teaching activities, holding workshops throughout Europe and the United States.
